SUMMARY:Continuity Through Adversity
DESCRIPTION:Protecting What You’ve Built. Preparing for What Comes Next.\
nWhat happens to a business when circumstances suddenly change? Who can ste
p in\, make decisions\, access critical information and keep things moving
forward?\nContinuity Through Adversity\, presented by Oakland Thrive in par
tnership with The Zekelman Holocaust Center\, is a unique 90-minute program
designed to help Oakland County business owners think more intentionally a
bout resilience\, continuity and the future of what they have built.\nThe p
rogram begins with historical testimony and stories from Holocaust survivor
s and their families who rebuilt their lives\, communities and livelihoods
after unimaginable loss. These histories are presented in their own full an
d human context—not as a comparison to the everyday pressures of running
a business\, but as an opportunity to reflect on stewardship\, preparation\
, family legacy and what it means to rebuild and carry something forward.\n
Participants will hear from legal and financial professionals who will brea
k down succession and continuity planning in plain language\, including the
roles of wills and trusts\, powers of attorney\, buy-sell agreements\, bus
iness valuation\, insurance\, beneficiary designations and other planning t
ools.\nThis interactive program is designed especially for owners and senio
r leaders of established and growing Oakland County businesses\, including
family-owned\, immigrant-owned and closely held companies. Whether you are
beginning to think about succession or simply realizing that too much of yo
ur business depends on one person\, this session will help you identify vul
nerabilities and take a practical first step.\nAttendees will leave with a
clearer understanding of their most urgent continuity risks\, a framework f
or protecting the people\, knowledge and relationships their business depen
ds on\, and one specific action to complete within the next 30 days. Oaklan
d Thrive will also connect participants with follow-up resources and qualif
ied professionals who can help them continue the planning process.\nThis is
not just a conversation about what happens someday. It is an opportunity t
o make sure the business you worked hard to build is prepared to continue t
hrough change—and that the knowledge\, relationships and legacy behind it
can be carried forward.\n \nIn partnership with
