Oakland Thrive Spotlight Pitch Prep Series will prepare Oakland County entrepreneurs to tell a stronger business story, communicate their value proposition, and compete for visibility, capital, customers, and strategic connections. Fed through Oakland Thrive’s Fish Tank events and supported by Small Business Consultants, B2B technical assistance providers, and OU Inc., the four-session cohort will help business owners refine their data, pitch deck, financial story, and growth ask.
We will select up to 15 entrepreneurs for a 5-session ( pitch prep cohort. Participants will receive support to strengthen their value proposition, gather key business data, prepare a 3-minute pitch, and create a presentation limited to 3 slides plus a cover page.
Following the prep series, 3 finalists will be selected to pitch live at Oakland Thrive Spotlight on October 8, 2026 and receive a cash prize to help grow their business!
To be eligible must check all boxes:
● Have participated in Fish Tank sessions or will commit to participate in August
● Have a clear product or service
● Can commit to 4 sessions between August and September
● Would be available for the October 8 Spotlight event if selected
● Increased visibility and recognition within the community
● Professional business coaching and mentorship
● Networking opportunities with business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs
● Valuable exposure to potential customers, partners, and sponsors
● Expert feedback to strengthen their business pitch and strategy
● Access to resources that support long-term business growth and success
