Oakland Thrive creates and hosts a wide variety of county-wide economic development and business events. We work with a variety of partners, including Oakland County to host, support, and create events to support the Oakland County business community. These events include innovative programs to fill gaps in the economic development/business ecosystem of the county and bring together business groups to “cross pollinate” to share best practices, ideas, and support.
Countywide Events
We participate in many countywide events, including the Oakland County Economic Outlook, a great networking event for Oakland County business leaders.
Industry Specific Conferences and Trade Shows
We participate in many local, state, national and international level conferences and trade shows. This year, Oakland Thrive is involved in the planning of the opening reception of the Vehicle and Transportation Technology Innovation Meetings, an international B2B forum for innovations in automotive and mobility.

Thrive Connect
Thrive Connect is a series of Resource Fairs connecting vendors and resources with the small business community. Topics include: -Workforce Development -Small Business Resources -Matchmaking Events
Trainings and Workshops
Oakland Thrive’s Business Forward program offers a variety of trainings tailored for the Oakland County Small Business owner on specific topics such as: -Social Media Training -Commercial Real Estate -Credit and Capital -Franchising -Government Contracting -Certified Business (Women, Minority, Veteran)
Oakland Thrive 1st Annual Golf Scramble
